He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy Phillips Kirk; his parents, George Frank and Ova Margaret Kirk; his siblings, George Frank Kirk, Jr., Johnny Jack Kirk and Isabelle Walders; and his son-in-law Tom Gietema.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Gietema, Jerry Lynn Kirk (Pam) and James Mitchell Kirk (Misty); his grandchildren, Cory Lynn Kirk (Hannah), Thomas Kirk Gietema (Nikole) and Tara Gietema Berry (Christopher); and his great grandchildren, Finley Kirk, Wyatt Gietema, Lillian and Aiden Berry.
