He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Edward "Buck" Covington and Mable Hannah Covington Shoemaker of Knoxville, TN.; his stepfather Elmer Jack Shoemaker; and his siblings, June Hensley, Darrell Covington and Tommy Covington of Knoxville, TN..
He is survived by: his wife Sabrina Covington (McCoy); his children, Tabitha Taylor (Herb) of Knoxville, TN, Bobby Wayne Covington II (Shay) of Morristown, TN, Brian Covington of Morristown, TN, Matthew Covington (Ashley) of Morristown, TN, Christopher Covington of Morristown, TN, Justin Covington (Michelle) of Morristown, TN and Laura Covington of Morristown, TN; his siblings, Ed Covington (Pat), Mark Covington (Melissa) of Knoxville, TN and Angie Haun (Anthony); and his stepsiblings, Kay Brown of Knoxville, TN, Marie Russell (Denver) of Knoxville, TN and Junior Shoemaker of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many special nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home (200 Jaybird Rd, Morristown, TN 37814). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pollard Cemetery.
