She is survived by: her sons, Robert Shields, Jr. and Darrell Shields (Tita); her grandson Robert III Shields (Pam); her siblings, Duke Short and Hope Fields; her nephew Johnny Cooper (Penny); and her close friends, Carol Fleemon and Sue Williams.
