It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Agnes Roper Calhoun (Morristown, Tennessee), who passed away on December 23, 2021, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harley Roper and Bertha Garner Roper; her husband Fred H. Calhoun; and her daughter Betty C. Wells. She is survived by: her daughter Freddie C. Thompson; her grandchildren, Terri Sawyer (Bobby), Cindy Register (Steve) of Anderson, S. C. and Jeff Wells (Janet) of Lakeland, FL.; and her sisters, Helen Presta and Evelyn Evans (Dennis) of Warner Robbins, GA.. She is also survived by 6 great-grandsons, 1 great-granddaughter and 14 great, great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Agnes' memory to First United Methodist Church, Newport or to Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, Newport.
