He is survived by: his wife Daphane Johnson; his children, Savannah Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Christian Gonzalez, Cheyanne Johnson and Bridget Johnson; and his grandchildren, Greyson Asher Johnson, Calliana Marie Johnson and Walker T. Gonzalez.

Ron passed January 26, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN due to complications from COVID-19.

“Our deepest sympathy on your loss. RJ was a class act we were fortunate to get to know. We enjoyed seeing him at various ballparks, such as Sarasota, Norfolk and Camden Yards as well as occasional post-game dinners with him. He loved his family even more than he loved baseball (which was a lot). He made everyone he encountered smile and laugh. He will be missed. We figure they needed a player or manager in heaven.
