She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Edgar and Vora Ermon Thompson Smith; her granddaughter Emily Boyd; and her siblings, Adell Reagan, Ava Maynard, Ova Reagan and J. R. Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Lonzo Manuel Burgess; her children, Terry Eugene Burgess (Debbie), Teresa Burgess, Tanzie Swim, Tammy Boyd and Tonya Page (Steve); and her sisters, Eva Vaughn and Tilda Lewis. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
