He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilma Jo Dinsmore and Larry Slagle; his siblings, David Slagle and Hope Herron; his grandparents, Sally Ethel, Orlando Scott Buchanan, Augusta and William Slagle; his uncle Hershel Eugene; his aunt Wilma Buchanan; and his parents-in-law, Della and Robert Caldwell.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Slagle; his siblings, Bob Slagle (Mary Jane) of Knoxville, Ben Dinsmore of Kingsport, Connie Brice (Kemper), Paula Smith of Nickelsville, VA, Debbie Barker (Carlos) and Lisa Gibson; his cousins, Jane Adkins, Jim, Trish Slagle, Jack and Carolyn Lane; his close friend David Bailey; his uncle John; and his aunt Connie Slagle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
