He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Geneva Ellis Jones; his son Bruce Ellis; his daughter-in-law Mary Ellis; and his siblings, Flora Jones Garrett, Lester, Clarence, Alfred and Ernest Jones.
He is survived by: his daughter Lynn; and his son-in-law Gary Vanderpool of Greenville. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
