He was predeceased by: his parents, Ad Young and Irene Thompson Bennett; and his brothers, James, Yeaman, John Bennett and Bill Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Rhinehart Bennett; and his children, Diana Doyle (Richard), Starr Chiles (Kendall), Michael (Paula), Scott (Ginger Freeman) and Andy Bennett. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
