He was predeceased by: his father Robert "Bob" Rhea; his brothers, Mike Massengill and Charlie Massengill; and his parents-in-law, Kyle "Red" and Edna Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Smith Waye; his son Dustin Waye of Persia; his grandsons, Dravin and Deegen Waye; his mother Betty Massengill Rhea of Mohawk; his sisters, Janice Massengill of Bulls Gap and Brenda Morris of Surgoinsville; his siblings-in-law, Peggy Massengill, Kylene Herron and Bill Hooker (Ellen); his niece Chrystall Rhea; his nephews, Jonathan Stepp, Josh Stepp and Steven Massengill; his grandson Melaine Waye; and his caregivers, Matt Allen and Sarah Johnson. He is also survived by friends; mother.
