She was predeceased by: her parents, Loyd R. Rushing and Ruth Sunshine Walters Rushing; her husband Rev. Jimmy Appleton; her son James Howard Appleton; and her siblings, Jimmy R. Rushing, Ruby Nell Rushing Webb (Sam) and Keilene Rushing Dycus (Bobby).

She is survived by: her sister Laura Stewart (Dale) of Milan. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
