She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas "Tom" Gurley; her son Morris Lane Gurley; her mother Pearl Connell; and her siblings, J. L. Connell and Maxine Curtis.

She is survived by: her children, Donna Johnson of Milan, Teena Gurley of Jackson and Tyson Hunt Gurley of York, SC. She is also survived by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
