He was predeceased by: his son Jonathan "Jon" Hicks; his parents, Jane Hicks and Carl Hicks; his siblings, Wayne Hicks (Polly), James Delmar Hicks (Mary), Billy Hicks, Mable Starnes (Robert), Alma Rader (Robert), Lyndia Stanifer, Barbara Cruey and Lois Ison (Jay); his parents-in-law, Gene and Viola Bowman; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Bowman and Brenda Byrd.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita Hicks; his son Timothy "Tim" Hicks (Wilma); his grandchildren, Philip Hicks (Sarah) and Courtney Hicks; his great grandchildren, Noah and Madison Hicks; his siblings, Dallas "Doc" Hicks, Odell Hicks (Dorothy), Frances Smelcer, Erma Ball, Glenda Gilland (Junior) and Debbie Brown (Charlie); and his siblings-in-law, Ricky Bowman (Glenda), Bobby Byrd, Dennis Stanifer, Doug Cruey, Mary Alice Gosnell (Ronnie), Barbara Waddle (Dale) and Miranda Bowman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
