He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pitman Douglas and Bell Cuningham Douglas; his wife Peggy Parsons; and his siblings, John P. Douglas Jr. and Sandol Douglas Patteson.
He is survived by: his children, Margaret Wheeler (Charlie), Joan Chapin (Bill) and Billy Douglas (Suzanne); and his siblings-in-law, Edna Earl Douglas and Jimmie Patteson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Second Presbyterian Church or the Trezevant Foundation.
