He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter H. Bennett and Virginia Pearl Vowell Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Sue Bennett; his daughters, Lisa Hogue (Carl), Tara Marbury (Tommy) of Memphis, TN and Dana Gillespie of Deltona, FL.; and his grandchildren, Carla Hogue, Eric Marbury, Kaley Pridmore (Ryan), Matthew Gillespie (Ashlyn), Allyssa Turpin (Nick), Kathryn Marbury and John Hogue.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
