He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bates and Alberta Ellis. He is survived by: his children, Precious, Britani, Kirsten and Timothy Bates; and his siblings, Stanley, Elvis, Michael, Douglas, Tony, Elnora, Anice, Valerie, Jacqueline, Patricia and Angeline. He is also survived by five grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
