He was predeceased by: his wife Helen; his son Chris; and his sister Patricia Anderson. He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Carmen Blakiston (Gary); his siblings, Carrie Diggs, Willie James Anderson (Mary), Myron Anderson (Beverly) and Calvin Anderson (Deidra); and his friend Eddie Melton (Patricia). He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Otis can be made to the Afro-American Police Association (Memphis), 1391 Ferguson, Memphis, TN 38106.
