It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Cox of Memphis, Tennessee, who passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore O. "Ted" Fischer and Agnes Anna Fischer (Evermon); her spouse Claude Everett Cox; her children, Barbara Richards, Donald Cox and Ronald Cox; and her brothers, Leon Fischer (Wilma) and John William Fischer.
She is survived by: her son Dennis Cox (Alice) of Memphis, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Marla Swartzbaugh (Martin), Brenda Case (Doug), Dan Richards (Rita), Kathy Finn (Jeff), Kindra Cox and Faithe Skinner; her sisters, Anna Britton (Sam) of Newton and Amelia Matheny of Houston; and her son-in-law Ed Richards of Oblong. She is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-great-grandchildren.
In loving memory of Mary Ellen, memorials may be made to the Hunt City Congregational Christian Church.
