She was predeceased by: her parents, Marguerite Pinkston Rankin and Frederick Gilbert Rankin; and her husband Dr. Roy James Barnes. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Michael Montgomery (Amy), Kate Montgomery DeMers (Matt), Katherine Caywood Boleware, Sarah Hester Simon (Zach), Sam Barnes and Lily Van Brocklin.
A graveside service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Memorial Park Cemetery (5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119).
