We are sad to announce that on September 17, 2021, at the age of 94, Joseph Townsend Barnett in Memphis, Tennessee, born in Norton, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Edward and Margaret Stryker Barnett; his wife Betty Haaga Barnett; his daughters, Claire Barnett, Margaret Anne Murphy (Steve) and Caroline Barnett; his grandchildren, Megan Carter (Justin), Joseph Murphy (Alicia), Andrew Murphy (Patricia) and Kevin Murphy (Ally); his great grandchildren, David, Charlie and Elizabeth Carter; and his brothers, Jack and Jim Barnett.
Due to COVID concerns, as recommended by the Shelby County Health Dept, masks are strongly encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Holy Rosary Church or Birthright.
