He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Washington; his parents, James M. Washington Sr. and Camilla Washington; his children, Camilla Washington-Greer, Donald Buckner and Phillip Buckner; and his siblings, James M. Washington Jr., John Lawrence Washington, Marvin Washington, William Washington, Russell Washington and Perry Washington.
He is survived by: his children, Parvetta Washington of Memphis, TN, Lenora Kimbrough-Johnson of Indianapolis, IN, Selwin Buckner of Evansville, IN, Eric Buckner (Fatima) of Evansville, IN and James Buckner (Diane) of Hopkinsville, KY.; his siblings, Gerlene Jackson of Owensboro, KY, Joyce Morman (Phillip) of Owensboro, KY and Alverna Dulin of Owensboro, KY.; and his pet Cody. He is also survived by His family grew with the addition of 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery (1300 Old Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303).
