He was predeceased by: his father Hayse Nelson. He is survived by: his daughter Natalie Ruggiero (Evan) of Greenville, SC; his mother Louise Davis Arnold of Sardis, MS; and his sisters, Sheila Parker (Marion) of Oakland, MS and Valeria Duke of Winona, MS.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
