She was predeceased by : her parents, Homer Ward and Emma Lee Lott Ward; her husband James Merin Ashworth (Jim); her daughter Monna Bowers; and her siblings, Homer Edward Ward, Thurman Ward and Elnora Dupree.

She is survived by : her children, Roy Smith, Jr. (Deby Lynn) of Eupora, MS, Rhonda Bartsch (David) of Henderson and Leesa Settle of Beech Bluff; and her siblings, Wilfred Ward (Lynn) of Doniphan, MO, Ricky Ward (Karen) of Collins, MS, Ruth Mangrum (Jimmy) of McCool, MS and Cora Clemmer of Spring, TX.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 11th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - East Main Chapel (619 E Main St, Henderson, TN 38340). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 11th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, July 11th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Henderson City Cemetery (164 N Church Ave, Henderson, TN 38340).
