Glenda F. White Tarver Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Glenda F. White Tarver of Memphis, Tennessee, who passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Glenda may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gertha M. Lester White and Columbus Marion White; her husband William O. Tarver; her son Danny Tarver; and her siblings, Pearlena Brown, Evelena Herring, J. C. White and Leonard White.
She is survived by: her sister Myra Simmons of Batesville, MS; and her nephew Marion White of Wynne, AR. She is also survived by four other nephews and three nieces.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Forest Hill Cemetery- East (2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, TN 38133).
She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Memphis, TN, to which memorials may be made in lieu of flowers.
