With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gail Belz (Memphis, Tennessee), born in Chicago, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 8, 2024 at the age of 86. She is survived by: her sister Merle Belz Backer of Chattanooga, TN; her nieces and nephews, Greg Belz of Memphis, TN, Marla Backer Brown of Atlanta, GA, Dean Backer (Katy Mooney) of Santa Barbara, CA, Michael Belz of Memphis, TN, Lisa Belz Devisfruto (Dan) of Memphis and Robert Backer (Jennifer) of Chattanooga, TN; and her great-nephews, Sam, Miles Backer, Jake Backer, Spencer, Carter Brown and Levi Belz.
She was also an active member of Variety, a charity that transforms the lives of children around the world who are sick, disadvantaged, or live with disabilities.
