She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Clyde and Etta McConnell Salyer; her husband James Hall Whidden; her son Bill Whidden; and her siblings, Reba Salyer, Rosemary Richards, Pierce Salyer and Jack Salyer.
She is survived by: her brothers, Sidney Salyer (Ruth), Don Salyer, Jimmy Salyer (Keiko) and Bill Salyer; her children, Andy Whidden (Gene), Margaret Ellis (Robert), David Whidden (Debbie) and Jimmy Whidden; her grandchildren, Kristen DeJesus (Carlos Arango), John Whidden (Kim), Matthew Whidden, Rob Ellis, Trey Whidden, Ava Rose Whidden and Kate Whidden; her great grandchildren, Drew DeJesus, Isla Whidden and Knox Whidden; and her niece Lynette Pearson (George) of Memphis. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
