She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Shoemaker and Helen Shoemaker; her husband Larry Gates; and her sister Diana Carlill. She is survived by: her children, Chris Carson (Anna), Todd Carson (Elizabeth) and Molly Westmoreland (Jeremy); her grandchildren, Frances Tynes (William), Taylor Carson, Helen Carson, Sarah Westmoreland, Luke Westmoreland, Nathan Westmoreland, Tommy Carson and Charlie Carson; her great grandchild Anna Frances Tynes; and her siblings, Brom Shoemaker (Jenny), Martin Shoemaker (Barbara), Josetta McLaughlin (Jerry), Cheryl Butler, Boolie Stephens and Christy Marcum (Jerry).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (4815 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN 37220). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
