She was predeceased by: her father Amos Brister; and her son Garmer Bucy Currie, Jr.. She is survived by: her spouse Garmer Bucy Currie, Sr.; her grandsons, Taurus Bucy Currie, Sr. and Garmer Bucy Currie, III; her great grandchildren, Taurus Bucy Currie, Jr., Kylah Symone Currie and Chrisdan Currie; her caregiver Carolyn B. Currie; and her friend Georgette Charlton. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
