She is survived by: her children, D. Currie Evans, IV (Irene), DeeWitt, Eilise Carabajal (Brad), Cathleen Villegas (Zach) and Heather Gilker (Chris); her grandchildren, Grace and Grant; her child Malise Culpepper (Byron); her grandchildren, Caroline and Merrill; and her caregivers, Nadia Garchi, Evelyn McCalleum and Timitrial Pettis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Sanctuary Choir Fund at Christ Methodist Church.
