He was predeceased by: his former wife Helen Armstrong; and his pet Bud. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Oliver Halloran Armstrong; and his children, Denise Cherry (Scot) of Bartlett, TN, Chuck Armstrong (Laura) of Biloxi, MS and Chris Halloran (LeeAnn).

The family asks any donations in Charlie's honor be sent to any Shriner's Hospital for Children or the Gary Sinise Foundation.
