In loving memory of Anna M. Looney of Memphis, Tennessee, who departed this world on March 17, 2025 at the age of 90. Anna leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Newell and Jesse Mae Goforth; her husband Aubrey Looney; her siblings, Charlotte Forrest, Naomi Simmons and Carlton Goforth; her grandson Phillip Looney; and her great grandchildren, Zachary Clay and Samuel Clay.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Freeman (Chee-Chee), Deborah McGregor, Linda White, Audrey Vaughn and Donna Looney; and her sisters, Madonna Hainley and Devora Wright. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 1661 Elvis Presley Blvd, Memphis, TN 38106. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM and at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Anna requested no flowers be sent at the time of her passing. In lieu of flowers, she wants a tree to be planted in her memory because she said "FLOWERS DIE BUT TREES LIVE.
