He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Simpson Powers and Virgie Miller Powers; his siblings, Marie Duke, Thomas, Hugh and Bobby Powers; and his stepson Thomas Whitman.
He is survived by: his son James Edward Powers of Medina, TN; his siblings, Janette Rhodes of Parsons, TN and Floyd Powers of Henderson; and his grandchildren, Lindsey Kaye Powers and Whitney Webb (Chris). He is also survived by four step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
