Wayne Prater Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne Prater (McMinnville, Tennessee), who passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Brown Prater and Nannie Elizabeth Jordan Prater; and his sister Marie Humphrey (Charlie). He is survived by: his wife Olla Mae Prater; his children, William Timothy "Tim" Prater (Martha) of Sparta, Chris Prater (Jasmin), Tiffany Lashae Prater of McMinnville and Kalyn Swann (Warren) of Murfreesboro; and his siblings, Donnie Prater (Johnnie Faye) of Tracy City, TN, Sue Burks (Kenneth) of McMinnville and Patricia Smartt (Mike) of McMinnville. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the High Funeral Home (101 College St, McMinnville, TN 37110). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the High's Chapel (101 College St, McMinnville, TN 37110).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Monroe Carrell, Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
