It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy Delores Prater (McMinnville, Tennessee), who passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee Maxell and Sadie Jane Bowlen Maxwell; and her siblings, Betty Bechtel, Janice Crawford, Ruth Lee and Everett Maxwell.
She is survived by: her husband Mason Prater; and her children, Anita Prater, Wanda Prater, Melinda Prater (Kyle Nash), Jason Prater, April Kinslow (Mike) and Tess Bafford (Rusty). She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the McMinnville Funeral Home (117 Underwood Rd, McMinnville, TN 37110). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (183 Underwood Rd, McMinnville, TN 37110).
