He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd David Winkler and Dorothy Smoot Winkler; and his brother Wayne Winkler. He is survived by: his wife Louise Boles Winkler; his children, Scott Winkler (Lisa), Stacey Winkler, Lisa Seals, Karen Bouldin (Floyd), Julie Hillis and Michael Boles (Heather); his brother David Owen (Kathleen); his grandchildren, Megan Johnson (Evan), Luke Winkler, Robby Jones, Micah Seals (Heather), Tristain Boles, Maxine Bouldin, Aaren Bouldin (Lauren), Matt Long, Trevor Long, Alex Hillis, Lavica Boles, Lauren Boles, Khloe Boles and Louisa Bouldin (Dakota); and his great grandchildren, Ralston Watson, Aspyn Jones, Everly Seals, Isla Basham and Cameron Long.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel (117 Underwood Rd, McMinnville, TN 37110). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
