James Wesley touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Sherrell and Ella Flatt Sherrell; his sister Velma Jackson; and his close friend Mary Jeanette Deason. He is survived by: his children, Darron Sherrell (Carrie) of McMinnville and Shannon Gannon of McMinnville; his grandchildren, Kacie White (Kyle), Seth Looper (Cydnie), Ethan Cantrell, Caylie Sherrell (Austin Harris) and Wesley Sherrell; his great grandchildren, Kylan, Khloe and Kyson; and his sister Rosie Maynard (Levon) of Sparta, TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 8:00 AM at the High Funeral Home (101 College St, McMinnville, TN 37110). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at the Old Zion Cemetery.
