It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ida Cheryl McCowan of McMinnville, Tennessee, who passed away on June 17, 2024, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Prater and Cora Underwood Prater; her husband Elmer Ray McCowan; her children, Waylon Ray Farless, Sharon Denise Farless and Mitchell D. Farless; her grandson Johnny Farless; and her siblings, Wilma Jo Sanders, Carolyn Faye Brown, Novella Hodges and James David Prater.

She is survived by : her granddaughter Montana Farless; and her siblings, Elizabeth Murphy of Liberty, Litta Murphy of McMinnville, Danny Prater of Liberty and Michael Prater of Short Mountain. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the DeKalb Funeral Chapel (863 S Congress Blvd, Smithville, TN 37166). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 at 4:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 at the Hunter Memorial Park Cemetery.

In addition to flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Ms. McCowan.
