She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Prater and Cora Underwood Prater; her husband Elmer Ray McCowan; her children, Waylon Ray Farless, Sharon Denise Farless and Mitchell D. Farless; her grandson Johnny Farless; and her siblings, Wilma Jo Sanders, Carolyn Faye Brown, Novella Hodges and James David Prater.
She is survived by: her granddaughter Montana Farless; and her siblings, Elizabeth Murphy of Liberty, Litta Murphy of McMinnville, Danny Prater of Liberty and Michael Prater of Short Mountain. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Ms. McCowan.
