He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Houston and Inez Green Pitman; and his sister Ruby Pitman. He is survived by: the mother of his children Delores Maxine Pitman of McMinnville; his children, Michael Lee Pitman (Sharon) of Morrison, TN, Randy Marshall Pitman (Melinda) of Rock Island, TN and Amanda Christine Lewis (Abe) of McMinnville; his grandchildren, Kertis (Braley), Destiny, Hannah Pitman, Zoey, Calub (Shaunta), Tiler, Savannah, Abbey Pitman, Haylie Washer and Jaxxon Lewis; his brother James Pitman; and his cousin Timmy Pease. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the High Funeral Home (101 College St, McMinnville, TN 37110).
