He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Clarence and Lester Newbill Sydnor; and his sister Barbara Crocker. He is survived by: his wife Linda Baker Sydnor; his son Clay Sydnor (Meredith) of Troy; and his grandchildren, Garrett Sydnor, Maddie Sydnor and Jentry Sydnor.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made to McKenzie High School FFA Chapter.
