She was predeceased by: her parents, Noah William Carter Averitt and Myrtle Alice Boone Averitt; her daughter Barbara Kay Black; her siblings, Harold, Melvin, J. V. Averitt, Lorene Batson, Cathleen Ingham, Louise Averitt and Ovalene Monroe; and her nieces, Valerie and Susan.
She is survived by: her grandsons, Jason Howard (Christine) and Jeremy Bromley; her great grandchildren, Taylor Bromley, Noah Howard, Emma Howard and Thad Ward; her sister Rosella "Rosie" Smith; and her nieces and nephews, Cathy, Robert, Tracy, Billy, Norma, Terry, Sherman, Phyllis and Elton.
