With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Pevehouse of McDonald, Tennessee, who passed away on October 27, 2024 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Bob R. Pevehouse of McDonald, TN; her former husband George A. DeFur; her son James A. DeFur of Cleveland; her daughter-in-law Janice DeFur Chambers; her parents, Eway Bowman and Sarah "Sallie" Bowman of Birchwood; her sons-in-law, Lester Graham of Middletown and Jeff L. Carman of Cleveland, TN.; her siblings, Luther Bowman (Corabell), Lesley Bowman (Lorene), James Bowman (Mildred), Eway Bowman Jr., Tommy Bowman (Ruby), Henry Bowman, Ruby Allison (Gabby) and Emma McClure (Arthel); her siblings-in-law, Evelyn Davis Bowman, Paul Bettis, Jessie Melton, Arlena "Bud" Pevehouse (Bonnie), Sam Pevehouse and Dean Pevehouse (Judy); her parents-in-law, James Knox Pevehouse, Leona Evans Pevehouse, Jim DeFur and Alice DeFur Crowe; and also Glenda Pevehouse Ellis.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jerrie DeFur Graham of Middletown, OH and Joyce H. Carman (Jeff) of Cleveland, TN; her sisters, Margie Bettis and Lula Ford; her sister-in-law Molly Bowman (late Henry); and her grandchildren, Jeffrey DeFur of Joshua, TX, Tracie DeFur Peters of Wagner, SD, Alex DeFur of Dayton, TN, Verena Robinson of Burnside, KY, Sheryl Wooten (Pearl), Tony Graham, Charlette Prosperi (Ross) of Middletown, OH, Wendy Graham of Cleveland, TN, Bobette Nelson of Norfolk, VA, Vanessa Clemons (Jamie) of Chattanooga, TN and Jennifer Hewitt of Cleveland, TN.. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, thirty-three great-great grandchildren and four great-great-great grandchildren.
