He is survived by: his mother Oleva Maddox Braden; his siblings, Sandra Jelf, Johnny Mack Braden and Barbara Chandler (Steve); his nephew Gregory S. Jelf (Joanna); his children, Sophia and Ian; his niece Tonya M. Jelf; his daughter Joanna; his niece Candace Russell (Travis); and his daughters, Abigail, Molly and Caitlyn.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East TN Children's Hospital in memory of Michael.
