She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband James "J. C."; her son-in-law Wayne Smith; her parents, James Tommy and Etha Mills; her siblings, Elaine Mills, Carolyn Jones (Teddy), Alma Hutchison and Alvin Mills; her sister-in-law Marie Kitts; her daughters, Kathy Smith and Kaye Young (Larry); her grandchildren, Amy Buck (Jason), Holly Bales (Dwight), Dustin Reno (Amy), Matthew Reno (Amanda), Chris Young (Tiffany) and Ryan Young; her siblings, Sherman Mills (Cinda), Tommy Mills (Kathy), Benny Mills (Janice), Reford Mills (Eula), Mary Roark and Kathleen Dyer (James); her siblings-in-law, Erby Bowles (Ann), Faye Mills and Margie Wilson; and her close friends, Virginia Tharp and Don Earnheart. She was also cherished by eighteen great grandchildren.
