He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Hurst and Zola Hurst (Cook); his wife Mary Nell Hurst (Smith); his son Stephen Hurst; and his siblings, Sue Epperson, Marie McBee and Paul Hurst.
He is survived by: his daughter Vera; his son-in-law Allen Collins; his grandchildren, Sarah Craze (Daniel) of Oliver Springs and Matthew Collins; his great grandchildren, Jackson Houston and Chloe Craze; his nephews, Lester Hurst and Larry Hurst; and his niece Jennie Walker.
