He was predeceased by: his parents, Esker Archer and Lillie Archer (Hankins); his wife Barbara "Bobbie" Archer (Cruze); his siblings, Odra Archer, Judson Archer, Mava Helms, Vada Butler, Barbara Ellen Crippen Turner and Mary Ruth Cox; and his daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Burchell.
He is survived by: his children, Martha Beeler of Knoxville, TN., Steve Archer (Guadalupe) of Knoxville, Edward "Ed" Jr. Archer (Lisa) of Calhoun, GA and Tedford "Ted" Archer (Jackie) of Canton, GA.; and his close friend Elmo Emily of Calhoun, GA.. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
