She was predeceased by: her husband Harold Sanders; her parents, Edward Cooper and Elizabeth Cooper (Rogers); her brothers, Andrew, Jack and Dennis Cooper; and her grandson Randall Sands.
She is survived by: her former husband Fred McHaffie; and her children, Debra McHaffie, Faye Sands, Fredda McHaffie, Donna Beason and Fred McHaffie, Jr.. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
