He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Benton Bowers and Rosa Lee Bowers; his former wife Jeanette Bowers; his children, Yolanda Bowers and Donald Bowers; his grandchildren, Braylon and Channah Bowers; and his sister RoseAnn Dyer.
He is survived by: his wife Shelby Jean Bowers (Ogle); his children, Donna Hankins (Bob), Johnny Bowers (Cathi), Bobby Bowers (Brenda), Kasha Smith (Dwayne) and Stacy Gibson; his daughter-in-law Janice Bowers; his stepchildren, Deborah Buford, Ruth Pate (Lester), Denise Jones (Larry) and Shane Ogle; and his sister Virginia Lee Lynn (Jimmy). He is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren.
