He was predeceased by: his parents, Garlin C. Bridges and Alva Hatmaker Bridges; his brother-in-law Daniel Warwick; and his mother-in-law Ruth Sharp Monroe. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Bridges; his children, Don Reid Bridges and Delores Collingsworth (Terry); his grandchildren, Amanda Bridges (Rick Story), Leah Collingsworth and Caleb Bridges (Chanda); his sister Martha Bridges Warwick; his niece Keely Riddle (Joseph); his nephew Drew Warwick (Courtney); his great-nieces, Daisy Jo, Riddle, Carleigh and Finleigh Warwick; his great-nephew Tucker Warwick; and his sister-in-law Catherine Monroe (Bob).
