He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Everett and Mary Poole Elzey; his sons, Tony "Rooster" Elzey and Paul Dewayne Elzey; and his brothers, Charles and Melvin Elzey.
He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Young (Russell) of Memphis, Kay Rainwater (Jeff) of Atlanta, GA and Jay Rodriguez of Munford. He is also survived by five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
