He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Bowman and Beulah Bowman; his siblings, Ramah Seymour, Doyle and Auble; and his grandson Bryce Collier.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Collins Bowman; his children, Travis Bowman (Tiffany) of Maynardville, Paula Booker (Jason) of Maynardville, Amy Collier (Greg) of Luttrell and Natalie Shaw (Andrew) of Nashville; his grandchildren, Ava Bowman and Gavin Collier; and his siblings, Ray Bowman (Cynthia), Lynn Bowman (Linda) and Leah West.
